Our team of specialists addresses conditions such as depression and anxiety in epilepsy, behavioral manifestations of movement disorders, mood changes following stroke or traumatic brain injury, psychiatric complications of neurodegenerative diseases and behavioral symptoms associated with brain tumors. Treatment approaches integrate psychiatric medications, targeted psychotherapy and close coordination with your neurological care team to optimize both brain health and mental well-being.

Our Program offers a full range of neuropsychological services, including comprehensive cognitive evaluations, baseline and follow-up testing for neurological conditions, presurgical cognitive assessment, differential diagnosis of memory and thinking problems and educational or vocational planning based on cognitive profiles. Our testing typically consists of a four- to six-hour session or several shorter sessions, followed by a detailed review of findings and personalized recommendations with you and your care team.

For those whose psychiatric symptoms have not responded adequately to standard treatments, our Neuromodulation and Novel Therapeutics Program offers access to advanced, evidence-based interventional psychiatry approaches, providing specialized treatments including transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), coordination of electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) when appropriate, esketamine therapy for treatment-resistant depression, deep brain stimulation programming support in collaboration with neurosurgery and access to novel pharmacological interventions for complex cases.

The Neuromodulation and Novel Therapeutics Program serves patients with severe or treatment-resistant depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder or other psychiatric conditions that can occur in the context of neurological disease. Our team works closely with your neurological specialists to ensure safe, coordinated care that addresses both the neurological and psychiatric dimensions of your condition.

The Comprehensive Brain Health Center works in close partnership with Montefiore Einstein Psychiatry Associates to ensure seamless access to ongoing psychiatric care when needed. For patients who require long-term mental health treatment, including therapy for anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder or other primary psychiatric conditions, we coordinate transitions to Montefiore Einstein Psychiatry Associates’ comprehensive outpatient services.

Patients benefit from access to the full spectrum of Montefiore Einstein mental health resources, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), family therapy, group therapy and specialized psychiatric programs, all coordinated with their neurological care.
