Why Choose Montefiore Einstein?

U.S. News & World Report ranks the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein (CHAM) as one of the best in the nation for the 18th year in a row. Our pediatricians are recipients of the Zocdoc Patient’s Choice and Castle Connolly Top Doctors recognitions, and are consistently ranked among the best pediatricians in the community.

Seamless Access to World-Renowned Specialists

Our patients and their families benefit from seamless access to world-renowned specialists throughout the Montefiore Einstein Health System, including CHAM. Through our eConsult service, we can connect with subspecialists and typically receive expert recommendations within 24 hours—helping you avoid long wait times for in-person appointments.

We’ll coordinate any additional care or specialized services your child may need, bringing together experts from across our health system to ensure care is fully integrated and comprehensive.

Promoting Early Literacy

As a Reach Out and Read participating practice, we promote early literacy and bonding between children and their caregivers by giving out new books at every well-child visit from six months to five years of age. We’ve also created a literacy-rich office environment with a comfortable book nook in our waiting area.

Pediatric & Adolescent Services We Offer

From preventative care to acute illness management, our pediatricians provide comprehensive services tailored to your child’s developmental stage and individual needs.

Well-child visits are the foundation of pediatric care, typically taking 30 minutes and providing a comprehensive assessment of your child’s health and development. During these visits, we monitor growth and development, provide anticipatory guidance to help you navigate each stage of your child’s life, administer age-appropriate immunizations and conduct vision and hearing screenings. We also complete sports physicals, camp physicals and any required forms. Please bring your child’s immunization records to each visit. Our well-child visit schedule follows the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP®) recommendations, with visits at regular intervals from newborn through adolescence.

When your child is not feeling well, we offer same-day sick appointments so you can see one of our pediatricians promptly. Montefiore Einstein Advanced Care provides on-site point-of-care testing that delivers quick, accurate and reliable results for common illnesses, including rapid tests for strep throat, influenza A and B, COVID-19, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), urinary tract infections and hemoglobin levels. This advanced diagnostic capability means we can diagnose your child’s condition and begin appropriate treatment during the same visit, without delays or the need to visit an outside laboratory. We also offer on-call pediatrician services evenings, holidays and weekends, so you always have access to one of our doctors when you need guidance.

Our Practice offers comprehensive on-site diagnostic services specifically designed for children, so your child can receive testing in a familiar, comfortable environment. Available services include pediatric-specific radiology (X-rays, ultrasound, computed tomography—CT scans), electrocardiograms (ECGs) for heart rhythm evaluation and bilirubin testing for newborns with jaundice who have been discharged home. Results are typically available the same day, with radiologist interpretation provided quickly so we can discuss the findings and next steps with you before you leave.

We’ll coordinate any additional care or specialized services your child may need, bringing together experts from across our health system to ensure care is fully integrated and comprehensive.

If your child is scheduled for a procedure under anesthesia, the specialist or surgeon may request a preoperative consult exam and form to be completed. Our pediatricians provide thorough preoperative medical assessments to ensure your child is healthy and ready for the procedure. We review your child’s medical history, conduct a physical examination, order any necessary presurgical testing—including blood work—and coordinate closely with the surgical team to optimize safety and outcomes.

Montefiore Einstein Advanced Care offers nursing visits for specific services that do not require a physician examination, including immunizations and blood work. These visits offer a convenient option for families who need vaccinations administered or lab work completed without a full appointment.

Montefiore Einstein Advanced Care pediatricians complete all necessary forms for your child’s school, daycare, sports participation and other activities. Our practice serves families from New York City, Westchester County and surrounding areas, including Connecticut and New Jersey. We maintain templates for physical forms from multiple states and municipalities. Common forms we complete include:

  • New York State and Westchester County physical examination forms
  • New York City Department of Health forms
  • Daycare enrollment forms
  • Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program documentation
  • Medication administration forms for schools and camps
  • Sports participation physicals
  • Change of formula forms

Many of these forms are built into our electronic medical record system, so you don’t need to bring paper copies—we can access and complete the required documentation during your visit.

One of the greatest advantages of receiving care at Montefiore Einstein Advanced Care is seamless access to subspecialty expertise throughout our health system, including CHAM. Through our innovative eConsult service, we can reach out to specialists with questions about your child’s condition and typically receive expert recommendations within 24-48 hours. This is particularly valuable for dermatology concerns, where we can send photos and receive guidance from a pediatric dermatologist without waiting for an in-person appointment.

Our pediatricians collaborate with specialists across all areas of pediatric medicine, including:

  • Allergy and immunology
  • Audiology
  • Behavioral and developmental pediatrics
  • Cardiology
  • Dermatology
  • Endocrinology
  • Gastroenterology (especially for infant reflux, feeding issues and constipation)
  • Neonatology (for premature infants and newborns with special needs)
  • Nephrology (kidney disease)
  • Neurology
  • Orthopedics and rehabilitation medicine
  • Pulmonology (especially for asthma and breathing concerns)
  • Rheumatology

We’ll coordinate any additional care or specialized services your child may need, bringing together experts from across our health system to ensure care is fully integrated and comprehensive.

If we identify any suspected developmental delays or concerns about your child’s milestones, we will refer your child to early intervention services and help connect you with the appropriate resources. Some of our Montefiore Einstein sites provide early intervention evaluations, and we work closely with outpatient physical therapy services, including MOTION PT Group®, for babies and children who need support with gross motor development, such as rolling, sitting or walking.

Referrals are made for hearing concerns, often in conjunction with early intervention evaluations. For conditions regarding abnormal head shape (plagiocephaly) or cephalohematomas, the team coordinates care with pediatric neurosurgical specialists.

We’ll coordinate any additional care or specialized services your child may need, bringing together experts from across our health system to ensure care is fully integrated and comprehensive.

As children grow into adolescence, their health needs change. Montefiore Einstein Advanced Care pediatricians provide age-appropriate care for teenagers, including:

  • Annual wellness visits and sports physicals
  • Depression and anxiety screenings
  • Sexual health counseling and education
  • Birth control and contraception counseling
  • Acne treatment
  • Weight management referrals to our multidisciplinary team (for ages 16 and up), which includes an endocrinologist, nutritionist, physical therapist and, for those who qualify, a bariatric surgeon
  • Immunizations, including human papillomavirus (HPV), meningitis and other adolescent vaccines

We create a confidential, supportive environment where teenagers can discuss their health concerns and receive guidance tailored to their developmental stage.

Our physicians will coordinate any additional care or specialized services your teenager may need, bringing together experts from across our health system to ensure care is fully integrated and comprehensive.
