Montefiore Einstein Advanced Care’s highly specialized Food Allergy Program addresses every aspect of food allergy care, from advanced diagnostic testing to life-saving treatment for severe reactions. We diagnose and treat allergies to peanuts, tree nuts, milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, soy, sesame, seeds, fruits and meats using comprehensive testing strategies tailored to each patient. When blood or skin tests don’t provide definitive answers, our team performs food challenge testing under close medical supervision to confirm diagnoses. We are one of the few practices in the region to offer oral immunotherapy for pollen food allergy syndrome, helping patients build tolerance to foods that previously triggered allergic reactions. Our Program also provides expert management of eosinophilic esophagitis and food-protein-induced enterocolitis syndrome.

Montefiore Einstein Advanced Care’s asthma specialists collaborate with pulmonologists and other experts to effectively diagnose and treat patients with all forms of asthma, including severe and difficult-to-control cases. We offer on-site testing for environmental and non-allergic irritants, as well as evaluation for occupational asthma. Our allergists identify each patient’s specific asthma triggers, while our pulmonology partners provide advanced lung function testing to determine disease severity and guide treatment decisions. We personalize long-term asthma management plans for all our patients, and for those with severe symptoms, we offer the latest monoclonal antibody therapies supported by leading-edge clinical research. We created our Drug Allergy Program to help patients navigate the complex process of diagnosing and treating medication allergies, including reactions to antibiotics, anesthetics, chemotherapy agents, biologics, aspirin and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Montefiore Einstein Advanced Care – Westchester is the only facility in the region that offers comprehensive diagnostics, including drug challenge testing, to help patients fully understand their medication allergies and determine which are safe for them to use. Our extensive services include drug allergy skin testing, supervised drug challenge testing and drug desensitization therapy for patients with persistent allergies who require specific medications for their health.

Our integrated Sinus Clinic was designed specifically for patients with complex nasal allergy symptoms who need coordinated evaluation by multiple specialists. During a single convenient visit, our experienced allergist provides comprehensive skin testing for airborne environmental allergens while our ENT physician performs rhinoscopy to evaluate chronic nasal symptoms. Working as a team, these clinicians develop precise, personalized treatment plans that address the root causes of your symptoms and provide lasting relief.

Our highly specialized Itch Clinic, the only one of its kind in the area, provides thorough evaluation and management of itch-related skin conditions and symptoms, including eczema, hives, contact dermatitis and swelling. The Itch Clinic also offers a comprehensive medical assessment of chronic itch without an associated rash, a challenging problem affecting one in five people over age 65. Since these symptoms are not always allergy-related, our clinicians consider a wide range of possible causes, including potentially undiagnosed conditions, to help you find the answers and treatment you need.

Patients with immune deficiencies have direct access to specialized care through Montefiore Einstein’s Immunologic Diseases Center, conveniently located in the same Westchester County facility as our Allergy, Asthma and Sinus Center. When conditions affecting the immune system impact respiratory, gastrointestinal or skin health, our experts collaborate to conduct thorough assessments, including detailed clinical and family histories, blood tests, diagnostic vaccinations to evaluate immune response and genetic testing for potentially inherited disorders. We then develop personalized long-term treatment plans to meet your unique needs.

We offer multiple forms of immunotherapy to help your body build tolerance to allergens over time. Traditional allergy shots remain a proven, time-tested treatment that teaches your immune system not to overreact to problematic airborne allergens. For patients who prefer faster results, we provide cluster and rush immunotherapy programs that can desensitize you in weeks rather than months. We also provide sublingual immunotherapy, a convenient needle-free oral treatment option for environmental allergies.

Our comprehensive diagnostic capabilities include skin testing for food, airborne and medication allergies, chemical patch testing for contact dermatitis and pulmonary function testing, including spirometry to assess respiratory health. We offer nasal provocation testing to confirm local allergic rhinitis and advanced diagnostics for immunologic diseases, including detailed medical histories, blood tests, diagnostic vaccination and genetic testing for patients with symptoms of immune deficiency.

We provide monoclonal antibody therapy for both children and adults to improve symptoms of asthma, chronic sinusitis with nasal polyps, chronic hives and atopic dermatitis.
