Cosmetic botulinum toxin injections, the most popular of which are BOTOX® Cosmetic and Dysport®, are used to temporarily reduce or eliminate the appearance of facial lines and wrinkles. Also known as neuromodulators or neurotoxins, botulinum toxin blocks nerve signals to the muscle where it was injected. Without the signal, the muscle cannot contract, resulting in a smoothing effect of the nearby wrinkles over time. Typically, botulinum toxin is used to smooth crow’s feet, forehead furrows, lip lines and frown lines.

Dermal fillers are injectable gel-like substances typically used in the facial area to temporarily reduce the appearance of lines and creases while restoring volume loss due to aging. Fillers may also be used to plump thin lips, enhance shallow contours and diminish the prominence of recessed scars.

For people seeking a gradual, natural-looking approach to facial volume, we offer volumizers and regenerative treatments, such as Sculptra®. Unlike traditional fillers, Sculptra® helps stimulate collagen and elastin production, improving skin turgor and elasticity over time. It has been recently approved for jowl treatment and may be a helpful option for people experiencing volume changes related to glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) medications or weight loss.

Platelet-rich plasma therapy harnesses your body’s natural regenerative potential to support cellular renewal and tissue revitalization. This innovative treatment may be used to address hair thinning, skin laxity and diminished dermal vitality through targeted applications that support healthier-looking skin and hair. PRP can be used in standalone injections for alopecia rejuvenation or in combination with procedures such as microneedling and laser resurfacing.

Microneedling is designed to stimulate collagen and elastin to improve skin tone and texture and reduce the appearance of scarring. We offer two approaches. Standard microneedling with PRP therapy is a lighter, less invasive option that creates tiny microchannels in the skin to support collagen production and help deliver PRP growth factors. For deeper laxity and texture concerns, we also offer Morpheus8 radiofrequency (RF) microneedling, an energy-based approach that reaches deeper layers and typically requires more advanced numbing. Both options can be combined with PRP to help reduce downtime, improve redness and swelling and support overall results. Nitrous gas is available as a comfort option for more intense RF microneedling treatments.

Intense pulsed light/broadband light photo facials use targeted light energy to improve the look of sun damage, brown spots (lentigines), redness from rosacea, red acne marks and uneven skin tone. Treatments can also gently stimulate collagen production over time, resulting in a refreshed, more even appearance. We use the Sciton JOULE®X platform. When appropriate, small areas of unwanted facial hair may be addressed as a secondary concern during BBL treatments. For convenience, BBL can also be combined the same day with other modalities such as neuromodulators, fillers and the removal of superficial bumps.

Laser resurfacing uses advanced, precision technology to improve skin texture and tone while addressing concerns such as fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars and pigmentation. Using the Sciton platform, we offer a range of resurfacing options—from light to deep—including MicroLaserPeel®, ProFractional® erbium laser, Contour Tunable Resurfacing Laser (TRL)™ and HALO® hybrid fractional laser. Your care team will recommend the right approach based on your goals, desired downtime and skin assessment.

We offer a range of options for scar concerns, from early redness to more textured, established scars. For early, superficial and red scars, including early stretch marks and red acne marks, BBL can help reduce redness and support the skin’s natural healing process. For deeper or more formed scars, we may recommend laser scar reduction using advanced fractional ablative and nonablative technologies on the Sciton platform, including ProFractional®, Contour TRL™ and HALO®. Microneedling with PRP can also be used to treat acne scars and other scar types—see Microneedling section. Some scars, such as keloids, may require medical management; in those cases, we can refer you to our Medical Dermatology team for appropriate treatment.

For select people with persistent acne, we offer energy-based options that can complement topical or medical care. The Accure laser is a U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved technology specifically used for acne treatment. It is designed to target sebaceous glands over a series of four to five sessions, typically spaced one to two months apart. BBL may also be used as an adjunct to support acne-related redness and inflammation. For select patients, photodynamic therapy (PDT) is also available as an alternative energy-based approach to treating active acne.

We offer light chemical peels to help improve the look of uneven tone, discoloration, fine lines and mild scarring. Chemical peels can be performed on their own or combined with other cosmetic procedures. Your provider will discuss whether a chemical peel or a laser resurfacing procedure is the most appropriate modality for your needs. Your chemical peel results are optimized best when combined with a curated skin care regimen from our team.

We remove common superficial bumps—such as skin tags, seborrheic keratoses and milia—from the face, neck and chest to help you achieve clearer, smoother skin. Removal may be performed using electrodesiccation or spot erbium laser treatment for precise results. This procedure can be performed on its own after application of topical numbing, or combined with other laser procedures such as photo facial BBL or resurfacing lasers like HALO® or ProFractional®.

For people experiencing hair thinning and loss, we work with Montefiore Einstein’s medical dermatologists to identify and treat any underlying health conditions. Our team addresses cosmetic concerns with PRP, light-emitting diode (LED) light therapy or a nutraceutical plan. PRP may be used in standalone injections or combined with microneedling. Our PRP platform uses one of the highest concentrations of growth factors available to help patients regrow fuller, thicker hair.

Sclerotherapy is a minimally invasive vascular treatment that helps fade small varicose veins and spider veins in the legs. It is performed with precise injections directly into affected vessels and typically involves minimal recovery time.
