Tumors of the Brain & Skull
The Montefiore Einstein Comprehensive Brain Tumor Center is a recognized leader in neuro-oncology, providing comprehensive care to manage brain, spinal cord and peripheral nerve tumors in adults and children, paraneoplastic syndromes as well as metastases that affect the central nervous system. Our multidisciplinary and intersectional approach allows us to re-envision the diagnosis and treatment of these tumors and their historically refractory responses to standard therapeutic approaches while reinforcing more biologically based and precision medicine-guided strategies that provide considerably less morbidity and mortality in the context of compassionate care models.
Our multidisciplinary team of world-renowned specialists includes neuro-oncologists, neurologists, neurosurgeons, diagnostic and interventional neuroradiologists, neuroimmunologists, neurogeneticists, medical and radiation oncologists, as well as stem cell and systems biologists. We employ a broad spectrum of the most advanced and ever-evolving technologies to accelerate previously unimaginable patient treatment successes and potential cures based on newly emerging biological discoveries.
Montefiore Einstein is renowned for implementing advanced treatments and state-of-the-art technology. Ever-evolving brain tumor immunotherapies have shown promise in their potential to improve survival rates and reduce harmful impacts by stimulating immune cells to attack the tumor, by blocking the signals that help the tumor evade the immune system, or by other novel mechanisms that frequently allow a patient to avoid neurosurgical treatment.
Should surgery be an option, our neurological and neurosurgical team uses high-resolution image guidance for brain navigation and continuous electrophysiologic monitoring of essential brain structures to ensure that eloquent areas of the brain that are important for movement and higher-order communications are preserved and even further enhanced.
